So, as I mentioned in my last journal entry, I'm going to be without Illustrator for a while, so you won't be seeing a whole lot of buttons from me for a while. I may upload some sketches for future designs, but unless I get bored and download a trial I won't be finishing any sets/posting them.

I am planning to start a different kind of series though, one involving traditional art. I've posted the first of these designs up for view, the Wreath Snail, which is the start of a new line of 'Creature' Designs.
I've always enjoyed drawing creatures over people, as you get to decide the proportions and biology, thus it's far more freeing that way (And you don't have a mini-spasm because you can't do justice to your favorite characters).

Anyways, I'm leaving the entries for the creature's devoid of my ramblings about the picture to make what a sort of 'Scientific journal' type dealy about the Wreath Snail.
Thus, you didn't get to hear the inspiration behind the Wreath Snail/Creature's designs, so I'll post it here. Last journal entry I posted about how I wanted to try sculpey, and I did. Of course, it's way harder than I thought it would be, so I got fed up with trying to make a human face and just started messing around with the sculpey. Before I knew it, I came up with a prototype Wreath Snail, and thus came the idea to draw a realistic version of said snail, and create a series of drawings of random, made up animals.

I can't wait until the inspiration comes for the next one, although right now I'm currently busy trying to study for exams and then move out of my dorm room, so it might be a while before I can actually draw the creature...
